Using BetterScript

BetterScript is a subscription iPhone app for turning speech into script text, formatting pages, and working with brainstorm transcripts and notes. You accept these terms when you create an account or sign in. BetterScript is available in the United States.

Children and younger users

Anyone can download and use BetterScript, and there's no age check.

Because of children's privacy laws, BetterScript isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email support@betterscript.app and we'll delete it.

Anyone under 18 should have a parent or guardian's permission before subscribing or buying minutes.

Your account

You can sign in with Apple, Google, or email. Give accurate account details, keep your sign-in information private, and contact us if you think someone else is using your account without permission. You are responsible for your own use of the account.

Our Privacy Policy explains how account details and your work are handled. We do not sell personal data. You can delete takes, recordings, or all your data in Settings.

“Delete all data” removes scripts, takes, brainstorms, and ratings. It keeps your account, subscription, minutes, settings, and billing history, and does not cancel your subscription.

“Delete account” cancels your subscription immediately and removes your account and saved work. Unused pack minutes are lost. It does not automatically refund any charge. Payment records, analytics, crash reports, and messages already sent may be kept where needed for legal, security, or business reasons. You can email us to ask about those records.

The free plan

The Free plan costs $0 and includes 20 minutes a month, about four scenes. Free minutes reset monthly.

Monthly minutes reset on your sign-up date, or the date a paid plan starts. Unused monthly minutes do not carry over.

Paid plans

• Monthly: $11.99 per month, with 200 minutes a month.
• Yearly: $99.99 billed yearly, shown as $8.33 per month, with 200 minutes a month. Save 31% compared with paying monthly.

The yearly monthly price is a comparison, not a monthly payment option for the yearly plan. Review the price and billing period shown when you subscribe.

Prices are in US dollars and exclude any taxes unless shown otherwise. Paid plans renew automatically until canceled. Monthly plans bill monthly and yearly plans bill yearly. Yearly plans include 200 minutes each month. We will give notice before a price change.

The free trial

Both paid plans offer 7 days free with 30 minutes, once. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid a subscription charge. After the trial, the selected paid plan includes 200 minutes a month.

The trial is available once per account. The first payment is taken when the 7 days end unless you cancel first. If the 30 trial minutes run out, dictation stops until the plan starts, unless you have pack minutes.

Minute packs and how minutes work

• 60 minutes for $8.99.
• 150 minutes for $19.99.
• 400 minutes for $44.99.

Pack minutes do not expire. They are used only after your monthly minutes run out. Importing and typing do not use minutes. Brainstorm time uses the same minutes as dictation.

Packs can be bought without a paid plan. They stay after a plan is canceled and are lost if your account is deleted.

Managing, canceling, and refunds

Manage or cancel your subscription in the app, in Settings under the membership option. Cancel before the free trial ends if you do not want to be charged.

After cancellation, paid access continues until the end of the billing period, then your account returns to the Free plan. Deleting your account instead cancels the subscription immediately and does not automatically refund any charge.

Payments are non-refundable except where the law requires. Email support@betterscript.app with any billing problem.

Your scripts belong to you

You own your scripts and the other original content you bring to or create in BetterScript. Using the app does not transfer that ownership to us. Only upload or record material you own or have permission to use, and get appropriate permission from other people before recording them.

You give us permission to store and process your content only to run the app. That permission ends when the content is deleted, apart from limited copies described in the Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

Do not use BetterScript to break the law, infringe someone else’s rights, share material you have no permission to use, threaten or harass others, access another person’s account, or interfere with the app. Do not try to bypass payment or minute limits.

We may restrict or close accounts that break these terms, and will give notice where reasonable.

Accuracy and availability

Speech recognition, formatting, notes, and layouts can contain mistakes. Review the results before relying on or sharing them. BetterScript formats your words; it does not invent your story.

We cannot promise that every result will be accurate or that the app will always be available or free of interruptions.

The app is provided as is, to the extent the law allows, and our liability is limited to the extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms removes rights that cannot legally be waived.

Changes and legal details

We will tell you about important changes in the app or by email. These terms are governed by the laws of Texas, without removing protections you have where you live.
