About this policy

This policy explains what BetterScript collects, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use the app.

BetterScript is operated by KREATIVEDEN INC, 5900 Balcones Dr Ste 10878, Austin, Texas 78731, United States.

Information we collect

• Account details. When you sign in with Apple, Google, or email, we collect account details such as your name and email address.
• Your work. We store your scripts, transcripts, brainstorm transcripts and notes, and account details so you can use the app across sessions.
• Usage. We collect screens viewed, features used, buttons tapped, app and device details, onboarding answers, an account identifier, and general location such as country, state, and city. We use your IP address to estimate this general location, but do not store IP addresses with this usage information. This helps us improve the app.
• Crashes. Crash reports include device and app details and an account identifier. We use them to improve the app.
• Ratings. If you rate a result, we store the rating, your name and email, any note, and the related transcript or text so we can improve results.
• Messages you send. If you send a bug report or feature request, we receive what you send. Bug reports can include your message, any photo attached, email, and device details.

Speech and recordings

When you dictate live, your speech is sent to a speech recognition provider to turn it into text. Live speech is not kept after processing. The provider may keep limited technical data for logging and billing.

Takes recorded offline are uploaded temporarily to be turned into text. These uploads are normally deleted as soon as transcription finishes or fails. Anything stuck is removed by a daily cleanup, usually within 2 days. Recordings otherwise stay on your phone.

Formatting, notes, and layout

Your transcripts and imported script text may be sent to an AI provider to format scripts, prepare notes, and lay out the page. Audio is not sent to the AI provider.

Text sent to AI providers may be kept for a limited time, generally up to about 30 days, and longer where needed for safety or legal reasons.

BetterScript needs this processing to work. You agree to it when you create an account or sign in.

Payments

A payment processor handles payments. We do not store your card numbers.

How we use and share information

We use account details and your saved work to run the app across sessions. We use speech and text to provide transcription, formatting, notes, and layout. Usage data, crash reports, and ratings help us improve the app and its results. Messages you send help us understand your bug reports and feature requests.

We share data with service providers only to run the app. We do not sell personal data.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep account details and saved work until you delete them or your account. You can delete takes, recordings, or all your data in Settings. Deleted scenes can be restored for 30 days, then are permanently removed.

“Delete all data” removes scripts, takes, brainstorms, and ratings. It keeps your account, subscription, minutes, settings, and billing history.

“Delete account” cancels your subscription and removes your account and saved work. Payment records, analytics, crash reports, and messages already sent may be kept where needed for legal, security, or business reasons. You can email us to ask about those records.

Your privacy choices

You can use the deletion options in Settings or email support@betterscript.app to access, correct, or get a copy of your information. We will also honor rights that apply where you live.

Where information is handled and how we protect it

Information is stored and processed in the United States. We use reasonable safeguards, but no system is perfectly secure.

Children and younger users

Anyone can download and use BetterScript, and there's no age check.

Because of children's privacy laws, BetterScript isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email support@betterscript.app and we'll delete it.

Anyone under 18 should have a parent or guardian's permission before subscribing or buying minutes.

Changes to this policy

Any updated policy will show its effective date here. We will tell you about important changes in the app or by email.
